Welcome, awesome readers!
I started this blog in February 2010 as an outlet for the incessant ramblings of the Hamster. Some people sleep. I think. And THINK. It’s annoying.
Mostly what you’ll find on this blog are random posts – in topic and frequency – about things that I find silly, funny, or simply deserve to be written about.
While this is known as a humor blog – and was even listed in Healthy Moms Magazine’s “100 Best Humor Blogs” for 2016 – I also write reflective pieces when the mood strikes.
Like you, I’m many things to many people: mom to four, grandmother to one, daughter to three, dog-lover to two, and friend to many. I’m also a lover of life. Saying that last one out loud probably makes me sound like I lead a posh lifestyle but really, my passion for life is a decision. I have never lived a posh life. In fact, quite the opposite.
I’ve spent most of my adult life as a single parent. Having raised four kids mostly by myself, I take pride in the fact that my strongest survival skills have been a healthy sense of humor and a quirky perspective.
While my kids are still very much a part of me, this is the first time in my life that I’m adulting on my own. And by ‘on my own’, I mean with my two very large, ferocious dogs. (In case you’re a serial killer, I thought you should know that.)
Having achieved THIS age, the one thing that has been with me since just about forever is my passion for writing. I blame the Hamster and at the same time I’m grateful because somehow I’ve managed to make a career out of my love of words.
During the day I’m a copywriter and writer for clients with serious business and communication objectives. When I’ve had enough seriousness for one day I come here, awesome readers, to hang out with you.
Are you still reading?
I hope you come back often.
