How’s it going, awesome Moxie-Dude readers?
Ever have a day where you just want to throw all clean eating and healthy habits to the undernourished models you see in magazines and venture over to the fast-food lane?
Well last week I had a bossy-ass craving for smoke meat and French fries. But not just any French fries. I wanted the made-from-actual-potatoes kind – like my mom makes. I’m going to blame this hankering on the approaching cold weather. (Shame on you, approaching cold weather!)
Before I continue, I think I should tell you that when it comes to food, I do have my standards: I like to have a glass of wine or two with my meals. And since the regular fast-food joints don’t accommodate this standard, I decided to check out a place called Smoke Meat Pete in Ile Perrot.
*Sound of Tinker Bell’s wand casting a sparkly spell over my smoke meat and French fries experience*
While I walked into Smoke Meat Pete’s expecting a greasy submission to my live-on-the-edge craving, I have to admit: every part of me from my taste buds to my perfectly satisfied belly to my ears and my soul – all were pleasantly surprised.
As it turns out, Smoke Meat Pete is not just about sandwiches and fries. It’s about a friendly environment where everyone talks to everyone else, good old-fashioned comfort food and LIVE MUSIC!
I walked in expecting a quick bite and possibly even regret from stepping out of my usual comfort zone of food categories and ended up caught up in the enchantment of a New Orleans-style evening.
How cool is that?!!
