Hey there, awesome Moxie-Dude readers!
Confession: Humans, puppies, kittens, ponies . . . no matter what the species, I love babies. I can’t help it. As I’ve mentioned here before, I even came home with two baby goats once. My ex – before he became my ex – was not happy about that. Neither were my neighbours. (Sorry neighbours. And Dear My Ex: I kinda told you when we first met that I was impulsive. Didn’t I? *awkward shrug*)
To my point, Greg and I were walking by the sea turtle hatchery on the beach here in Mexico and guess what I found . . .
If you guessed a bottle of tequila – you’re almost right in a very where’s-your-mind kind of way.
Actually it was a baby sea turtle. It was one of those WTF-was-I-thinking-to-walk-outside-without-my-camera moments. You would be totally melting right now if I showed you a pic of the newly hatched baby sea turtle in my hand.
But I do have a pic of the hatchery . . .
At first we weren’t sure what to do. Somehow Miguel (I named him “Miguel” on account of we’re in Mexico) had escaped his little safety prison-nest and was trying to make his way to the ocean. But it was the middle of the day – a very dangerous time for baby sea turtles because of the plethora of birds in the sky who look down and think, “OH LOOK! LUNCH!”
Anyways because I don’t have a pic of the REAL Miguel, I found this for you.

Clearly YOU understand why I would want to bring Miguel home with me, right?
Note to Greg: You SEE? Everyone else gets why I fell in love with baby Miguel and wanted to adopt him!
Instead we brought him to the ocean to save him from that plethora of birds I mentioned.
*Sigh*
Have a safe life, Miguel. Momma’s thinking of you.
I totally get it.
And I’m sure Miguel made it safe and sound and is thriving with flounder and Ariel. Or whatever other Disney characters might be down there.
