Friday nights were made for pizza. And cardboard. Apparently.

Happy Day to you, awesome readers!

If you’re friends with me on Facebook, this post will be old news so you may as well stop reading now. I think I just saved you three minutes, which means that you can now get a head start on laundry. Or go back to bed. You’re welcome.

If you’re not friends with me on Facebook, first of all, why not? And second of all, once again I managed to ruin a frozen pizza. I know I should be ashamed – humiliated even – but this time it was not my fault. It was the frozen pizza company’s fault! Or possibly the fault of the writer who worked on their packaging. I think spreading the blame is important because that way it makes everyone look less at fault. I’m kinda fair that way.

The frozen pizza company and their writer forgot to mention in their cooking instructions that there’s a piece of cardboard under the pizza that needs to be removed PRIOR TO COOKING.

Before anyone gets fired over this, know that some good came out of it too. I learned three things from this experience:

  • I learned that Pizza knives cannot cut through cardboard. The same goes for bread knives and steak knives. I’m thinking that there must be a special knife for cutting through cardboard that possibly belongs in a toolbox.
  • I learned that pizza can actually become one with cardboard, making this a great premise for a country song. I’m thinking something like “I love you like pizza loves cardboard” or “We belong together like pizza and cardboard”. I’m not really good at coming up with titles for country songs – mostly because I’m not a country singer – but if you have any ideas for great country song titles, feel free to share them in the comments. (It’ll give me something to read during my 2 a.m. insomniacal fest.)
  • I learned that keeping the freezer stalked with Lean Cuisine frozen dinners is ALWAYS a good idea. Especially when said pizza was supposed to feed a teenage boy who eats as though he has a hollow leg.

In other news, it’s time for the weekly wrap-up!

A day in the life of a long weekend. Written for anybody who has ever said, “you are so lucky to work from home”.

Blogging is possibly better than therapy. But don’t tell my therapist. Just kidding. I don’t really have a therapist. Because I blog.

A woman’s place is in the kitchen. And she should go there directly after work. Because that’s where she keeps the wine.

More good stuff from the Internets

Just a Mum?’s Netflix Giveaway is still on. The draw is this Tuesday!

And if you want to up your chances of wining 6 months of FREE Netflix streaming, head on over to You Pinspire Me and enter there too! (Yes, you’re allowed! Although only if you’re Canadian. Sorry.)

If you think you’re weird, you have to check out Mommy’s Weird. Seriously. Go check her out. You’ll laugh. Or cry because you’ll realize that you just found someone you should be related to.

And of course y’all know Food Retro, one of my fave food bloggers. Spoiler alert: She’s not only a food blogger. She’s also a mom with an early reader.

See y’all next week!

Meanwhile, keep reading!
