Let’s be fearless. All of us. Together. Without the fear.

Hello, awesome readers.

Yesterday, Saturday, August 17th to be more precise, I attended the Fearless Women’s Summit in Montreal.

First off, special thanks to Sharla Brown, founder of ONE WOMAN.

Through ONE WOMAN, Sharla does amazing work by bringing women together for the greater good of the world.

Not. Even. Kidding.

As a social enterprise, ONE WOMAN’s mission is to help and empower girls and women around the globe to reach their full potential. The organization achieves this by reinvesting profits into giving individuals across the globe access to the education and support they need for a better quality of life.

A quality of life that many of us take for granted.

A quality of life that many of us may otherwise never have access to.

I  can’t stress the “many of us” enough. We’ve all heard the horror stories. And while words like “poverty”, “human trafficking”, “victim”, and “underprivileged” are horrendous – often too ugly to face – the truth is that some lives are consumed by these words.

“Many of us” is you.

“Many of us” is me.

“Many of us” is us all. Whether we stand poised with confidence or cowering in fear, Sharla, through ONE WOMAN, brings us together to make a difference … one woman at a time.

Yesterday during the Fearless Women’s Summit I got to hear some incredible stories from women that have gone from tragedy to triumph.

Stories of abuse … addictions … finding out that your own father was a serial rapist with over 16 women and girls under his proverbial belt.

I listened … I laughed … I let tears sit at the bottom of my eyes. I was both in awe and inspired.

13 women in all shared their stories and insights yesterday and I loved them all for their incredible courage. They stood centre stage, not as victims sharing their stories of heartbreak and suffering, but as fearless women encouraging others to live their best lives … to seek out and foster their own potential.

I’m happy to share these women with you here and encourage you to check them out. Like Sharla through ONE WOMAN, these women have dedicated their lives to helping and mentoring others.

And don’t forget to check out ONE WOMAN.

The summit is only a small piece of the important work they do. Work that makes a difference. Work that affects us all.
