Ahhhh yes it’s that time of year again. Today’s the day that Samantha and Jonathan go back to school – and this year that means grades 8 and 9.
Part of me welcomes the return of routine and the other part (possibly the more dominant part) admittedly dreads the return of routine. Making sure that everyone is out the door at a specific time in the morning isn’t so bad. It’s the homework that I worry about. Maybe worry isn’t the right word. I DREAD it.
Confession: my kids’ homework is the biggest challenge of my day – especially MATH.
Let’s face it. Despite the fact that numbers are defined pieces of information, the math today is different from when I went to school.
And how am I supposed to hold the title of oh-so-mighty-parent when I don’t understand the math?
Is this an age thing? I mean, does my mind not work like that anymore?
