Pizza is a vegetable, right?

September 28, 2012 by Mona Andrei Leave a Comment

Balance. It’s something we all strive for and according to all the self-help gurus out there, it IS possible to find some kind of middle ground between work, family and personal goals. (To which I say, “HA!”)

Like you, part of me wants to believe them. I keep deluding myself with thoughts like, “wouldn’t it be cool if I cooked a REAL supper tonight?” But by the time I finish fighting traffic and get home from work, the only question I want to answer is, “pepperoni and cheese or all dressed?” (You know. For the vegetables.)

Of course I always end up feeling guilty, which leads to me agreeing with that little voice that loves to remind me that, “BALANCE IS FOR PEOPLE WHO SLEEP AND MEDITATE!”

And despite the fact that I’m not very good at either of these, I continue to delude myself into believing that one day I will get to cleaning out the garage and finish writing my novel. One day.

Meanwhile, I’ve got Domino’s Pizza on speed dial so that I can balance driving while sitting in traffic while making sure that my kids eat supper at a decent hour. (While feeling grateful that I won’t have any dishes to clean.)

With that said, I’m here to let you know that I’m going to be cutting down my blog posts to once a week for the next few months so that I can focus on finishing my novel. And cleaning out my garage.

I’m thinking that Fridays will be a good day to post. Partly because today IS Friday but mostly because I think it will be a great way to end the week.

And while I know that a lot can happen in a week (understated), I’m hoping that you won’t forget to come back and visit (wherein I insert a sincere smiley face 🙂
