Does anyone else’s week look like this?
The day job . . . thinking about that article I want to write . . .the kids . . . the cooking . . . thinking about that article I want to write . . . the day job . . . the cleaning . . . the laundry . . . the day job . . .
Just like you, every week I have a long to-do list. I don’t know about you, but it just seems that I never have enough time to get everything done that I want to.
Sooooooo . . .
I’ve decided to start scheduling my week in advance to make sure that I slot in everything that I want to accomplish. Specifically, writing – for this blog and other markets.
Goal: Instead of my week looking like this:
Monday – Why? Just why?
Tuesday – How many days until Friday?
Wednesday – Can this week get ANY longer?
Thursday – What have I accomplished this week so far? Oh yeah. NOTHING!
Friday – Does throwing a load of laundry in the washing machine on Tuesday and forgetting about it until Friday count as an accomplishment?
My week will look like this:
Monday
I wrote for an hour before work this morning (Yayyy me!)
Tuesday
Teenager: “Mom, I have no pants to wear. Again.”
Me: “Here. I did a load of laundry last night.” *Said as I look up from my morning writing ritual.*
Wednesday
First draft of piece I started on Monday is finished (Another Yayyy me!)
Thursday
Time to research for another article idea
Friday
What?!!! How did the week go by so quickly???
If you have a system or a time management tool that you use and like, I’d love to hear from you!
