Happy Halloween, awesome Moxie-Dude readers! And even more important, Happy National UNICEF Day!

One of the things that I love about sharing and connecting through writing is that I can help make a difference. Usually my aim is to give you – my awesome readers – a break from daily life. A smile, a few moments of “something else”.

Well today’s post goes beyond that. The goal of today’s post is to help promote UNICEF’s important campaign: Likes Don’t Save Lives, Survival Gifts Do.

Why?

Because just by agreeing to contribute my voice today – National UNICEF Day – Hallmark Canada will in turn donate 10 vaccines to children living in areas affected by poverty, conflict or natural disaster around the globe.

Now THAT’S awesome.

Confession: If you know me in real life, you know that I usually avoid knowing about the “bad things” happening in the world. I never watch the news and almost never read posts that say: “like my page to help me _______________ “ (fight cancer . . . convince my mom that I need a puppy . . . )

But UNICEF’s important work is not about sadness; it’s about hope. It’s about SAVING CHILDREN.

Fast Fact About UNICEF:

UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization in the world.

How do they do it?

As part of the UN, UNICEF is active in over 190 countries – their reach is driven by an attitude that states: ”NOWHERE is too far to go to help a child survive”.

Likes Don’t Save Lives, Survival Gifts Do

This is a wonderful campaign because it’s bold, edgy and most importantly, REAL. (Let’s face it: how can clicking a “like” button possibly make a difference?)

Another Fast Fact About UNICEF:

UNICEF is supported entirely by voluntary donations.

So what’s a Survival Gift?

UNICEF Survival Gifts are a collection of gifts essential for child survival and development.

When you order a Survival Gift for family or friends, real life-changing items like vaccines and food are shipped from UNICEF’s warehouse in Copenhagen to children and families in need around the world.

All children deserve a chance in life. Sadly, not all children are born in the fortunate circumstances and environments that we’re able to provide for our children – or that our parents were able to provide for us when we were children.

Thanks to UNICEF, ALL children are given a chance to survive and thrive – even children living in areas affected by poverty, conflict or natural disaster.

Want to make a difference?

UNICEF’s Likes Don’t Save Lives, Survival Gifts Do campaign is a tangible way for you to help a child.

Let’s help UNICEF make a difference in a child’s life. Let’s purchase a Survival Gift today – National UNICEF Day!

Hugs
