HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015

Well, well, awesome readers,

Here we are with only a few hours left of 2014. I don’t know about you but for me the year FLEW by like a diverse flock of colourful birds that don’t know where the hell they’re going.

To demonstrate the diversity of 2014, here’s a quick recap of my year. Oh and just in case your super-power is to analyze the shit out of everything, know that these are listed in no particular order. I should also mention that there’s no science to the colours I’ve designated to each experience except for the science that goes on in my head. Einstein would be proud. Or possibly embarrassed.

2014 is the year that I …

YELLOW: Made some new friends that I KNOW I’ll forever have in my life in one way or another – both male and female (you know who you are and I’m really happy to have met you).

RED: Rediscovered the love of my life – thanks to my acceptance that we can all be assholes sometimes (although him some of us more than me others).

BLACK: Learned that working with my neurosis makes it much easier to live with – I’ve also learned to trust my dogs (if they say there’s no serial killer in the closet, THERE’S NO SERIAL KILLER IN THE CLOSET).

ORANGE: Accepted my disability in the kitchen – I’ve even disowned my stove (everybody wins).

GREEN: Stopped arguing with my self-esteem – there are good days and bad days and the words “I’m not good enough” are not allowed in my head anymore.

Confession: Together, these words can be stubborn so now whenever they pop in my head I’m continuing the sentence to something I don’t want anyway:

I’m not good enough to swim across the ocean.

I’m not good enough to eat that entire box of cookies.

I’m not good enough to clean out the garage.

I call it reverse psychology and so far it seems to be working. I haven’t felt the urge to cross the ocean, eat cookies or clean out my garage so I’m thinking that I may have stumbled on a break-through in low self-esteem recovery.

As great as 2014 has been, I happen to have insider information that 2015 is going to be an even better year! How do I know this? Because I’ve been PLANNING it with the Creating Your Shining Year Workbooks by Leonie Dawson.

Everyone knows that getting dreams and objectives straight in your head is the first step to actually achieving them and these fun workbooks are great for helping you envision your ideal life and setting goals.

Here’s the link in case you want to check out the workbooks for yourself.

Thanks for hanging out with me this year and here’s to even more awesomeness for 2015!

Cheers!!!

Thanks, Eva! And yup. I relate. Closet doors should always be CLOSED 🙂
