100-best-humor-blogs

Hey there, awesome readers!

Before I let you read any further I want to tell you that this is not the post I had planned for today.

In fact, I hadn’t planned on sharing anything with y’all today because the post that I’m working on is slightly sentimental and heartfelt and requires long sips of coffee between paragraphs.

That said, THIS is my news for today because sometimes life throws us curveballs that feel like blessings WITHOUT the disguise. Sometimes …

So here I was, sitting at my desk and working on a copywriting project for a client when *ding* I get an email notification that someone has left a comment on this site. And while the *ding* sounded like any other email notification, I had NO IDEA that this one was actually dinging to the sound of fairy dust. Or something.

I’m imagining that you can imagine my surprise, delight, excitement, and shock. I’m certain that there’s a word that rolls all of these emotions into one. I just can’t think of it right now because I’m too damn surprised, delighted, excited, and shocked to think of one. Or even to make one up. *Cough* Cinthia.

I want to extend a Mount Everest-sized thank you to Cascia Talbert and her editorial team at Healthy Moms Magazine for including this l’il ol’ blog on this year’s list of 100 best humor blogs. (Humor. Spelled the American way because it’s an American site. Respect, y’all.)

I can’t tell you how much this means to me. Actually, I can. It means THE WORLD.

And the mountainous thank-yous don’t end there.

I also want to thank YOU, awesome readers, for visiting … for commenting … for following … and especially for reaching out to me when I get lazy and reminding me that “Yo. What are you, dead?” as one reader so eloquently put it a few weeks ago. And indeed she did succeed in reminding me that I was not dead. Just lazy.

And while this may sound moronic, I’d also like to thank insomnia, crickets, and sunrises. Because much of the content for this site is inspired by these three friends.

(Although at the time, when I’m pulling a muscle tossing and turning and swearing because I can’t sleep, I’m not sure if “friends” is the word I would actually use to describe them.)

Confession: While I’m writing this “today”, I have to tell you (because I’m honest that way) that I won’t actually be posting this until “tomorrow”, which technically IS today so why am I even mentioning this?

Am I rambling? Yes, I’m rambling.

Okay, I’ll stop talking now.

Oh but wait! Here’s the link! I’m #51. My new fave number.

A quick PS. to my family … #51 … 5+1 … 6. We all remember whose favourite number that was, right? Yup. He’s watching over us. STILL.

It is so hard to do humor. So congrats, #51. Live long and prosp…oh wait, that’s a certain TV show celebrating its 50th anniversary yesterday.

Congratulations! I think it was this week’s post that did it…saw something here that I thought reached the Bombeck tidemark. (Does everyone agree on which post that was?)

The Sh*t They Don’t Tell You edition.

The Superwoman Workbook

Buzz

“Mona’s ability to mix humor with insight is truly admirable.”
Holly Monteith, Cynren Press

"Mona Andrei has a way of using humour to teach life lessons, hard taught through experience. Superwoman, The Sh*t They Don't Tell You Edition is both an easy and a hard read as she delves into the ever-changing world of the single mom. From online dating to the joys of grocery store wine, her personal experiences are complemented in this edition by the addition of other real-world stories. This "from the trenches" approach will have great appeal to those trying to get it all done without doing themselves in."
Kathy Buckworth, author of I Am So the Boss of You

"Superwoman is a love letter to single mothers everywhere. Mona Andrei writes with the tenderness of someone who’s lived it and the clarity of someone who’s learned from it. Her humor, honesty, and hard-won wisdom make this book a companion, a mirror, and a reminder that every woman deserves to honor her own strength.

"Reading Superwoman feels like sitting down with your smartest, funniest friend who refuses to let you forget your own power. Both medicine and celebration, this is a must-read for any woman who’s lived whole chapters of life on sheer heart and determination. This book doesn’t just tell a great story — it elevates the spirit of every woman who’s ever carried the world and wondered if she was enough.”
